As a Board Member of the Nebraska Business Aircraft Assn. I had the honor of introducing Neil Halford to nearly 200 guests at a dinner hosted by our association.  We had local people who are associated with aviation here in Nebraska as well as sales associates and vendors from some of the largest corporate aircraft manufacturers in the world.  As we were searching for a speaker, I strongly suggested that we invite Neil Halford as our guest speaker.....  Having never heard him "formally" speak, I somehow knew it was a great suggestion on my part. I could not have been more pleased at the positive results from his speaking. Neil is a genuine, caring, intelligent individual who has a "very positive" approach to every problem that he has encountered since his accident...the difference being that to Neil they are "no problem"!!!  I actually believe that every person (young and old) should have the opportunity to hear (and see) Neil speak. His message leaves one with tears streaming down your face, and laughing from "deep inside" at the same time!!  I am constantly getting positive feedback about Neil's book and his speaking engagement at our event!!

I thought the presentation was extremely motivational and let me know that you really can achieve your dreams if you go for them and never give up.  My interest was kept throughout the entire presentation and it is one that I could sit and listen to every day. Most importantly, it is a presentation and story I will never forget. Many fellow co-workers that were around me stated how touching and moving the presentation was and really made them realize that if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything. Any type of organization could benefit from this presentation by showing everyone the career goals that could be achieved as well as personal goals. I purchased the Sound of Sight several months ago. I read a chapter of the book almost every night before I go to sleep. The book is also very uplifting and motivational.

Neil Halford came to my undergraduate college class and provided teacher candidates with real information about succeeding and being blind.  Neil provides motivation for everyone to try new things and gives a practical reality to teachers about listening to students.  His stories from his education showed how he was not only a part of the school, but a student that teachers will remember.  Neil told us during his speech that he recently responded to someone that "They have never tried."  I agree so many times students in our school believe they can't do things that they have never experienced.  Everyone who has the opportunity to listen to Neil speak or to read his book The Sound of Sight will be moved and motivated.
